My favorite pieces in my closet are ones that do double duty — tops that work for day and night, shoes that look as chic dressed down as they do dressed up and dresses that can be worn from the office to happy hour. This new little black dress from Banana Republic falls under the last category, so I wanted to show it styled two ways: as a chic office look and as an easy weekend outfit.

The dress is made with an eyelash-dot jacquard fabric so it makes what could have been a simple shift dress into something really fab. And since it’s already textured, I paired it with a clean black cape-style blazer in the work look to complement it. A skinny black belt accentuates your waist and the silver pumps add a bit of unexpected fun.

For the weekend-ready look, I focused on the beauty of the dress and just kept it really simple. Cat-eye sunnies keep it cool and trendy while a bamboo bag and espadrilles make this look perfect for Hawaii. Of course if you’re located somewhere the weather is cooler, this look might not be for you. But for those of us braving the heat all year long, this look will surely get us through the Fall months!

Thank you to Banana Republic for sponsoring this post!
